Following an extensive round of consultation, IASC Principals on 20 November 2017 endorsed revised commitments on AAP. This revision aims to build on successes to date, re-emphasize the importance of working towards accountability to affected populations but to also reflect some key developments within the humanitarian sector. In particular it addresses the linkages between AAP and PSEA; lessons learnt from the roll-out of the IASC Community-based Complaints Mechanism pilot project, the endorsement of new standards (such as the Core Humanitarian Standard and Minimum Operating Standards on PSEA) and the commitment to people centred approaches through the Grand Bargain Participation Revolution. The IASC looks forward to working together to operationalise and institutionalise these commitments within our own organisations and collectively in all humanitarian responses.
