Meet the Global Support Team

Naouar Labidi

Global Food Security Coordinator (WFP)
Ms. Naouar Labidi joined the global Food Security Cluster in June 2020.  She brings to the position two decades of operational humanitarian experience, working mainly in East, West, and Southern Africa as well as in the Middle East and Central Asia, covering emergency and recovery setups managing food assistance programmes and dealing with issues related to needs assessments, coordination and inter-agency collaboration.   She has been serving in the Emergency Operations Division at the World Food Programme (WFP) headquarters in Rome since 2016, and prior to that in various roles based in the field.  She has also worked with non-governmental organizations.   Ms. Labidi holds a Master of Econometrics from Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne University, France.

Abdul Majid

Global Food Security Coordinator (FAO)
Mr. Abdul Majid, a national of Pakistan, has joined global food security cluster as Global Coordinator food security cluster, effective 1 November 2021.   Mr. Abdul Majid holds master’s degree in development from COMSATS university, Pakistan. He also holds Master of Business Administration degree from his studies in Pakistan.  Mr. Abdul Majid has almost 15 years of experience in design, implementation and coordination of emergency responses in food security and livelihoods, resilience and climate-change adaptation sectors in the following countries: Pakistan, Philippines, Afghanistan, Syria and South Sudan.  During last two years, he was based in FAO regional office Bangkok as regional coordinator IPC for Asia and NANE region. He supported food security analysis in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Yemen, Sudan and Ethiopia.   Before this regional role, he remained associated with food security and agriculture cluster in South Sudan and Afghanistan for 6 years between 2014 to 2019 working with multiple partners to support/coordinate large-scale humanitarian responses.

Raquel Moreno

Programme Officer
Raquel is a national of Spain with more than 15 years of international experience in the public, private and third sectors. She holds a 5-year Law degree from the Complutense University (Madrid, Spain) and an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London, UK). Her most recent assignment was in WFP Afghanistan as Head of Operations and Field Coordination. Prior to that she was Head of Programmes in WFP Lebanon. She has worked in both emergency and development contexts, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. Raquel joined WFP in 2017. She loves nature, a good laugh with friends and learning from other cultures.

Cristina Majorano

Global Food Security/Programme & Policy Officer
Italian national, Cristina holds an undergraduate degree in public administration (Bocconi University, Italy) and a master in development economics (University of East Anglia, UK). Cristina has worked for 12 years for NGOs, both in emergency and development contexts, and both in the field and in the HQ. Eclectic professional, her field experience ranges from needs assessment and programme planning, to coordination, monitoring and evaluation, as well as programme support functions, while her thematic expertise includes food assistance and livelihoods support, but also nutrition, health, WASH and protection. She has been deployed to Sudan, Myanmar, Indonesia, Kenya, DRC, Chad and Jordan, and more recently supported operations in Ethiopia, Uganda, Cote d’Ivoire, Rwanda, Afghanistan and Yemen. Cristina is fluent in English, French and Spanish. Beside languages, Cristina enjoys nature in all its forms, traveling, music and dancing. She has joined the gFSC team in February 2020. 

Damien Joud

Programme Officer
Damien holds a master in agronomy (Ecole Supérieure de Purpan, Toulouse, France).  He joined the gFSC team in Rome in March 2019.  He has more than sixteen years of experience in humanitarian response in the field, mainly in the food security & livelihoods sectors with International NGOs (CARE, Action Against Hunger/ACF, Solidarites International, RedR UK, CAFOD, HelpAge International), and UN (FAO and WFP) in various contexts (conflicts, refugee/IDP, natural disaster – tsunami, floods, earthquake, waterlogging and cholera outbreak), and countries (Bangladesh, Indonesia, Niger, UK, Haiti, Myanmar, Guinea, Gambia, Serbia, Fiji). He worked with the FSC in Bangladesh as the cluster coordinator from 2015 to 2018, at national level and in Cox’s Bazar.

Davide Rossi

Global Food Security Cluster Programme Officer
Davide holds a Master degree in Social Sciences (Paris 8), and one in Political Science (Roma TRE), with a special focus on human rights & international relations. He has worked in the humanitarian sector since 2008, working for NGOs and UNs (WFP and FAO) mainly in the field of food security, livelihoods and nutrition. He has been deployed to various countries and crisis – both conflict and natural disasters related - in the middle east (oPt, Whole of Syria, Turkey), Cox’s Bazar (Rohingya emergency) and DPR Korea. He worked as Food Security Cluster coordinator from 2014 to 2018, and has joined the gFSC team in Rome in September 2019. He is fluent in English and French.

Gwenaelle Luc

Food Security and Nutrition Specialist - SDG2 monitoring
Gwenaelle is a social anthropologist focused on the drivers of child undernutrition as a starting point to improve the relevance and effectiveness of nutrition sensitive and livelihoods programs in a variety of contexts.  She worked 12 years for different INGOs (Action contre la Faim, International Medical Corps, Concern..), in Chad, Mali, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, Niger, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Haïti,  Ethiopia, and Senegal. The last four years, she was based in Paris as Nutrition causal analysis (Link NCA) advisor for Action Contre la Faim. She is also a Visiting Fellow at the Feinstein International Center at TUFTS University, working on seasonal drivers of undernutrition in drylands .  Gwenaelle is working on the EU project of the Global Network against Food Crisis as Food security and Nutrition expert with a specific expertise in M&E.

Louis Parker

Information Mgt & Reporting Officer
Louis Parker has experience using geospatial analysis and technologies to address challenges relating to Food Security and Disaster Risk Reduction. He first began his career in conservation, providing GIS and database support to the Zoological Society of London and to the Atlantic Whale Foundation. He then moved into agricultural research and development, joining the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), where he worked from HQ in Cali, Colombia, before being deployed to the Asia region where he helped develop and implement projects supporting small holder farmers. His focus was on capacity strengthening, trainings, participatory GIS and land use change, crop suitability mapping and modelling, climate change impact assessment for agricultural systems and food security, and vulnerability and hotspot assessments. More recently Louis was deployed by IMMAP, an NGO focused on Information Management to support the Food Security and Health Sector’s emergency response in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Louis is an avid Tottenham Hotspurs FC supporter and remains hopeful they will win the premier league sometime in the next three decades; when not making maps and dashboards, he enjoys walking, swimming, playing table tennis and hanging out with friends and family. Louis Parker holds an MSc in Water: Science and Governance from King’s College London and a Bachelor degree in Geography from the University of Nottingham.

Militezegga Abduk Mustafa

Food Security and Nutrition Specialist
Militezegga Abduk Mustafa is an Ethiopian and Eritrean National. She holds a bachelor and master’s degree in development economics. She is currently undertaking a PHD on urban food systems, vulnerability and human rights at the University of Palermo.  Since 2011 she has been working mainly for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) engaged in different facets of policy work in the area of food security and nutrition and the linkages with global food markets, agriculture investment, social protection and broader rural poverty reduction strategies.  She is a lecturer in the Human Nutrition Faculty at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome where she coordinates and delivers the course on Global Policy for Food Security and Nutrition. 

Walter Leoni

Graphic & Visual Communication
Walter is an experienced graphic designer with a vast educational and work experience in Australia where he moved in 2000. With a specialization in Graphic Arts at RMIT University, Melbourne, he spent over a decade in the graphic field, working on a wide range of project and clients, nationally and Internationally. A background as Art Director for a large Media Company, he also has a strong passion for marketing and completed further studies in Marketing and Business. Experienced in print (editorial, branding, typography, packaging) and online communication projects (web, social). He joined WFP in 2016 and his strenght is his adaptability, he is able to jump easily from being graphic designer, social media expert, helping out in IT issues or supporting IMOs.  A creative thinker that likes bringing ideas to life.​ When he is away from design, he enjoy sports, socializing and travelling.

Wenceslas Ntumba

Food Security Information Management Specialist
Citizen of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Wenceslas Ntumba have several years of experience in Information Management Systems, GIS, Naturals resources and Agricultures at National and International level. Before joining the gFSC, he worked for 2 years as IMO for Food Security Cluster in Mali, in Bangladesh (Cox’s Bazar) to support humanitarian response to the Rohingya with IOM as IMO for the WASH cluster, at Logistics Cluster (WFP-DRC) as GIS Officer and Information & Knowledge Management (IMKM) between 2011-2017 and for WFP in the Philippines between 2013-2014 during response to Typhoon Haiyan. Wenceslas has extensive knowledge of cluster coordination mechanisms, food security analysis, capacity building, data collection and GIS as to support better decision making. He holds a master’s degree in Natural Disaster Management from University of Liège, Belgium and a degree in Agricultural Engineering (Soil and Water Management) from university of Kinshasa, DRC.

Jessica Gavioli

Admin assistant
Ms. Jessica Gavioli joined the EME /GFSC Admin team from 1st November. With a B.A. Degree in Languages and International Communication and a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Translation,  Jessica joined  WFP in 2011 supporting the Security Division in several services and in different functions from HQ Security to Field Security in the  Special Projects Unit and, more recently, in the Policy and Enebling Services Unit. Jessica is also a member of the Gender Results Network in WFP since 2015.  Jessica loves to travel, discover new place and villages and take long walks in the nature with her family. She is passionate about plants, botanical gardens and vintage markets.

Herve Sorrel

IMO
Herve holds a master degree in International Affairs and a Master in Humanitarian Programme Management from the Bioforce Institute. His experience in both, the private and the humanitarian sector, allowed him to develop strong skills in: assessment methodologies, information and knowledge management. Herve worked in several emergency contexts covering different roles, including reporting and communications in Haiti in 2018, IMO for the DRC food security cluster in 2020, and more recently as assessment officer for the cash and market working group in CAR. He joined the global FSC support team in November 2021.

Vanika Lalande

Office Assistant
Vanika is national of France with Cambodian roots. She speaks English, French and Italian. She holds a Master Degree in History of Art and a Master Degree in Cultural Communication from the University of Le Mirail, Toulouse. Before joining OER and the Global Food Security Cluster, Vanika worked for the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) GSU Team within ESA Division as Temporary Administrative Assistant. Before that, she worked for the private sector where she was personal assistant/assistant project manager for over three years. She also worked as a French language teacher for 6 years.  Vanika has been living in Rome for 10 years and has a passion for traveling, art, photography, cooking, and multiculturalism.

Ajmerry Hossain

Information Management Specialist for HDP activities mapping
Ajmerry holds two master’s degree one in Computer Science Engineering and other in Engineering in Information Systems Security. Ajmerry Hossain is an experienced & certified IT professional bringing almost 12 years of experience in information / database management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Project management, MIS, Data analysis & visualization, GIS, coordination and capacity building in NGOs, INGOs, UN’s, IT firm. She worked in World Food Programme, UNHCR, REACH, BRAC and Ananash IT & Solutions ltd. During last two years, she was leading the Information management team in the Food Security Sector with the World Food Programme and Food Security Cluster in FAO Bangladesh both in emergency and development context.  Ajmerry has thematic expertise includes food assistance and livelihoods support, but also WASH, Education, Cash Based Intervention, Refugee Registration and Nutrition. 

George Kassab

Data Analyst
George is a national of Lebanon and holds a Master in International Cooperation in Urban Development (TU Darmstadt, Germany) and a Master in Sustainable Emergency Architecture (UIC Barcelona, Spain). He works in WFP since 2011 mainly in information and knowledge management in emergencies, in HQ as well as Lebanon and Mozambique offices. He joined FSC in Libya in July 2019 as an IMO and gFSC in October 2021 as Data Analyst. He enjoys creatively bringing together analysis, information and design to communicate the messages.
